Children in Scotland and YouthLink Scotland worked in partnership to deliver First Minister’s Question Time (FMQT) Next Generation.
In September 2018, 100 children and young people participated in the first ever FMQT Next Generation held in Glasgow. Young people asked the First Minister tough questions on the environment, LGBT inclusive education, the accessibility of politics, homelessness, mental health, issues for care experienced young people and more.
FMQT Next Generation Event 2 took place April 2019, giving more children and young people the chance to have their views heard and acted upon and a meaningful say about how Scotland is run.
This resource was designed for teachers, youth workers, parents, carers and other practitioners working with children and young people. The information and activities in this resource were designed to support the participation of children and young people in FMQT Next Generation Event 2 and includes the views of children and young people who participated in Event 1. Further information about FMQT, including the resource developed for Event 1, can be found here.
